Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025 • GDPR & CCPA Compliant
✅ Your data is stored locally in your browser. CryptoCard does not currently operate a backend server or collect personal data externally.

1. Information We Collect

When you create a CryptoCard account, we collect:

  • Account data: Name, email address, hashed password
  • Identity data (KYC): Government-issued ID and selfie for identity verification
  • Transaction data: Blockchain transaction hashes you submit for deposit verification
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used (for improving the product)

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your account
  • To verify your identity (KYC compliance)
  • To process and verify cryptocurrency deposits
  • To provide customer support
  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements

3. Data Storage

Currently, all account data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. No data is transmitted to external servers by the platform itself. Blockchain deposit verifications query public APIs (TronGrid) using your submitted transaction hash only.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

CryptoCard uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to maintain your session and store account data. This data persists until you clear your browser data or delete your account. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

  • Identity verification providers (Sumsub) for KYC processing
  • Card-issuing bank partners required for card activation
  • Law enforcement when legally required

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data via Settings
  • Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Portability: Export your transaction history
  • Objection: Opt out of non-essential data processing

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including AES-256 encryption for sensitive data, secure HTTPS connections, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

CryptoCard is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
