⚠ HIGH RISK WARNING: Cryptocurrency assets are highly volatile and speculative. The value of digital assets can decrease significantly or become worthless. Only use funds you can afford to lose. This document outlines the key risks associated with using CardFi.
1. Cryptocurrency Price Volatility
The value of cryptocurrencies, including USDT, can be highly volatile. While USDT is a stablecoin pegged to the US Dollar, de-pegging events have occurred in the broader stablecoin market. CardFi does not guarantee:
- The stable value of any cryptocurrency asset
- The continued peg of USDT to USD
- Protection against losses resulting from asset devaluation
- Any investment return on deposited funds
2. Regulatory and Legal Risk
The regulatory landscape for cryptocurrency and virtual cards is rapidly evolving globally. You acknowledge:
- Cryptocurrency may be restricted, regulated, or banned in your jurisdiction
- Changes in law or regulation could affect your ability to use CardFi
- We may be required to freeze, suspend, or terminate accounts due to regulatory demands
- Tax obligations on crypto transactions are your sole responsibility
- CardFi does not provide legal or tax advice
3. Blockchain and Technology Risk
CardFi operates on blockchain technology, which carries inherent risks:
- Network congestion: Transactions may be delayed during high-volume periods
- Smart contract bugs: Vulnerabilities in underlying blockchain protocols could result in loss of funds
- 51% attacks: Theoretical attacks on blockchain networks could affect transaction finality
- Hard forks: Network upgrades may affect asset availability or value
- Transaction irreversibility: Once confirmed, blockchain transactions cannot be reversed
4. Operational and Platform Risk
- CardFi may experience downtime, outages, or service interruptions
- Data breaches or cyberattacks, despite our security measures, could affect your account
- Third-party service providers (card issuers, banking partners) may suspend services without notice
- We reserve the right to suspend or modify any product or feature
5. User Error Risk
Cryptocurrency transactions offer no forgiveness for human error:
- Sending funds to an incorrect wallet address results in permanent loss
- Using the wrong blockchain network (e.g. ERC-20 instead of TRC-20) may result in irretrievable funds
- Losing your account credentials, PIN, or recovery phrase means permanent loss of access
- Sharing your login credentials or recovery phrase with anyone risks total account compromise
6. Counterparty Risk
CardFi works with third-party card issuers, banking partners, and payment processors. Risks include:
- Partner insolvency or operational failure
- Sudden discontinuation of card programs by Visa/Mastercard or issuing banks
- Changes in partner terms that may limit your card functionality
7. Liquidity Risk
In extreme market conditions, CardFi may face liquidity constraints that temporarily limit:
- Withdrawal processing times
- Card top-up availability
- The ability to convert or liquidate assets at expected rates
8. Fraud and Scam Risk
The crypto space is a target for scammers. Be aware:
- CardFi will never ask for your password, PIN, or recovery phrase
- Be vigilant of phishing websites impersonating CardFi
- Verify you are on cardfi.online before entering credentials
- Report suspected fraud immediately to support@cardfi.online
9. No Financial Advice
Nothing on the CardFi platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. All decisions to use the platform, deposit funds, or make card transactions are made solely at your own risk and discretion.
